Yardney Water Management Systems, Inc. was initially formed in November 1973 when Yardney's corporate parent, Whittaker Corporation, purchased the assets of the predecessor filter company. From November 1, 1973 until September 4, 1990, Yardney Water Management Systems operated as an operating unit of the $1.5 Billion Whittaker Corporation. In the late 1980's and early 1990's Whittaker made a strategic decision to re-focus Whittaker's business activities. This resulted in Whittaker selling off 40+ business operating units. Yardney Water Management Systems, Inc. became a stand-alone company as a result of this divestiture program.
Since separating from Whittaker in September of 1990, Yardney has moved forward embracing the same business policies, principles and operating structure as was put in place during the Whittaker years. The Yardney of today incorporates the "big company" attributes learned from Whittaker along with the smaller company attributes of flexibility, fast response and close project management. Yardney is well capitilized and enjoys a reputation of providing quality products and technical support to the industrial, commercial, environmental and irrigation market places. |
